EX1 Letus 35A Compatibility Issue

I just got my hands on an EX1 and I can't get a decent image using my Letus 35.

Even with the macro turned on, I can't zoom in far enough to properly frame the image without the focus turning to mush. I've adjusted the achromats distance to try to compensate but nothing works. Do I need some sort of additional element to use this combo or am I just missing something?

Does anyone have experience with the EX1 Letus 35a combination? This is not an extreme mind you, but one of the older standard Letus'.

The Letus35a isn't designed for HD cameras. That may be causing the problem since it's probably won't be able to resolve enough detail to look sharp in HD. Also the EX1's sensors are shifted I believe and require a special optic to get a proper image with a 35mm adapter. Letus and SGpro make achromats specifically for the EX1.
