EW100ENG-G2 or EW100G2

Greetings!

I have a Pannie DVX100 and I'm looking at purchasing the EW100G2 wireless mic. Why wireless? Strictly because I'm recording subjects that will be moving (man/woman-on - the -street) documentary style & because I don't have a sound recordist to handle a boom for the shoots that I'm doing.

Can anyone tell me if you have this set up or have used this wireless kit? I'm shooting documentary style shoots for now.

The wire mic is coming soon for when I get ready to do my narratives.

the sennheiser g2 is a great setup for the money.

i have a g2 set and a g1 set.

i'll probably try something fancier someday like the lectrosonics but the sennheiser stuff is very realiable.

for what you are doing i would go with a good short shotgun mounted on the camera with a good shockmount and then use a g2 set with the lavalier beltpak and perhaps the plug on transmitter for a handheld mic if you are going for speed a man/woman on the street thing can go quicker if you have a handheld mic and just hand it to them rather than have to stop and wire them up with a lav.

plus if the mic is in the shot and you are doing something where you want an eng look its really easy to get a mic flag (one of those square or triangle boxes that goes around the mic where you can put a logo around it)

it can add a real level of professionalism.
