EVFs?

It won't be cheap, just because it's Zacuto... But seriously, I'm sure the image will be great. It's great on the original Graticle. And again, it was not cheap.

If I go to NAB, I'm sure it will be on display to check out, but not really in the market for a third party VF, currently. My C300, which is what I use the Graticle on, is being used less and less and my F55 has a native VF. It actually has at least three native EVF options. And no one is building what I'd really like to see in a modern day VF: A large(~3.5") OLED panel with a flip-up diopter. Basically the same design as the Sony LCD on the F5/55 and on my P2 VariCam's. They could even do away with the mirror and make it direct-view if there wouldn't be any reflection/flair issues like on the Alphatron, which is direct-view.
 
Yeah, will be expensive, but I hope there will be price drop on used Graticals.

Btw they say it is only rebranded JZT viewfinder (which cost 1950$), so the price will be even higher.

Had never heard of "JZT"(it's actually JTZ), so I googled JZT Viewfinder and came up with this:

JTZ Kameleon. Looks almost exactly the same and is spelled exactly the same.

From an operators perspective, I do not understand why the SDI and power connections are underneath like they are, though.

While I love my Gratical Eye I’ve been hoping Zacuto would release a EVF that included a flip-out LCD similar to Arri’s.

Arri’s new MVF-2 with 4” IPS/LCD flip-out monitor.

Yeah, I have an eye on Portkeys. EVF looks great but I will wait for some reviews.

Actually I have LH5, which is very good for the price. LH5's 1500 nits seems bit better than Inferno's 1500 nits subjectively. I have it for couple of weeks so no long term experience but I would highly recommend this monitor. I was surprised with battery life. But that loupe cannot be used with LH5, only with LH5T or S I believe.
 
i bought this PortKeys 7" after some research and KrocanX's recommendations.

i have a 2.5 year old $2,300.00 SmallHD 7", SmallHD EVF, SmallHD older monitor 5.6" and the original Zacuto EVF from many years ago.

the Portkeys monitor is very very nice. BRIGHT? yes BRIGHT! this is the first monitor that actually works in bright direct sunlight. in a glaring overhead sun it was as clear as clear could be. i was skeptical as to what others say was usable but this is it. wonderful!

its very lightweight. resolution is great (1920x1200). color is very very good. works for well over 3 hours with the smallest NPF batteries. my expensive SmallHD 7" is sweet in that it has 8 progammable aids that can be programmed and has the nifty "proximity" of you finger when you get close to show the overlay interface. its great...but...its worthless in medium to bright light. also chews thru batteries and is much heavier.

the PortKeys has 4 programable buttons on top. mostly for focusing i use the edge highlights / unsharp mask effect like the SmallHD's have. i didn't think it had that but its simply called "Sharpening" (lol)SmallHD had another name for it. the menu is very simple but enough for me. a waveform monitor would be nice but i can live without it but could come in later firmware update some have speculated.

$329.00. this is a bargain and more than likely won't be buying the arguably over priced SmallHD stuff anymore. at the time there weren't many other options though.

ill be looking to replace my SmallHD EVF next.

i bought it off of Amazon so if i wanted to return it Prime would have allowed me to easily but no return for this monitor.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Display options are pretty amazing, but sadly EVF’s seem lacking.

I like evf for operating. When handheld or shouldered, it is nice to have the natural third point of contact for stability.
