Every frame of "Laguna Beach"............

"Laguna Beach" forgoes the staples of the reality genre - shaky hand-held shots or grainy private-booth confessions - and borrows its devices from prime-time teen dramas like WB's "Dawson's Creek." When the narrative needs nudging, the camera will linger on a youthful cast member's silently emoting visage while a pop song with soul-searching lyrics swells in the background. Compiled from clips that have been shot from a variety of angles using up to three Panasonic DVCPR050 cameras with specially outfitted lenses, every frame of "Laguna Beach" looks like it has been dipped in honey. The style is so foreign to the genre that when strangers approach Kristin Cavallari, a "Laguna Beach" cast member, the conversation always starts the same way. "The No. 1 question is, 'Is it real or not?' "

I did a google search on it after I posted and there is no camera, just a recording device... someone goofed on the camera model, it would have been interesting to know the correct camera..,

AGREED! I thought for sure they shot it on the DVX, not meaning the DVX looks like crap, but that it didn't look like it was on DVCpro with HD lenses....

Just wondering..this is probably a NuObErZoID question but...wats the difference between HD lenses and regular?

Sorry to bump this but I was looking at the TV with the sound off and lot's of the shots looked really good. I assumed it was a feature length film shot on 35mm. It really looked good. But then again I don't know how old this topic is....

I went over to a girl's house on myspace and watched 2 episodes, the show is pretty dismal, in that it's targeted to 13-19 year old girls, but I was surprised by the quality of most of the footage.

I've also met a 27 year old black man through myspace (this one chick's aunt's boyfriend)

EDIT: and no it was not the same girl
