every fifth frame....

I"ve captured some 24pA footage from DVX100b into FCP...

when I bring the clips into the timeline and play the sequence every fifth frame is interlaced. It's all jagged/horizontal lines type thing, I'm sure you know what I mean.

My question is what did / am I doing wrong with the timeline and/or capture settings? what is the best setting for 24pA Footage to not have this problem?

Thanks.

Bonus question > how can I post stills from my short film? Do I need a website? or just a place like photobucket or something? Or can I do it with a menu on dvxuser ?

I can answer your stills question.

upload the pic to isarapix.com then post the link here.

sorry cant answer main question, not a dvx guy

If you see one interlaced frame every fifth frame that's 24pA with it's pulldown intact. Run the remove advanced pulldown from the Tools menu on clips in the bins.

The "remove advanced pulldown" thing worked, thanks NoahK. ...however It makes me have to render every clip when I play it in the timeline...

that means I've captured it wrong, am I correct? I shouldn't have to render my clips when all I did was capture, then drag into the timeline.

what setting should I have my capture settings on? I shot 24pA.

Oh, and Nice site, thanks Cynic. I'll upload some screens as soon as I get this capture fiasco settled.

You ran the "remove advanced pulldown" which turned your 24pa footage, which had been recorded at 30i, back into 24pa. (Confusing, I know.) Now you need to make a 24 fps timeline into which you can insert your new footy.
