Ever Seen This? Preview vs. Sequence

Just messing around with some footage on my second machine (G4 Dual MDD) this morning and pulled some footage in to FCS 2.0 through Log an Transfer. I placed the clip onto a timeline, moved the playback cursor to about halfway through the footage and double clicked on the clip in the timeline. This brings the footage up in a preview window as well as the sequence window.....identical images......right? Nope. The preview window is very slightly but noticeably about a 1/4 stop brighter than the same image in the sequence window. I have no filters applied on the sequence or clip itself......Has anyone seen this behavior before?

I am going to the studio this afternoon and will check our main machine. It's not critical because all color correction/grading is done on an external monitor but I just found it odd that the two would not match even if only slightly. Oh and before you ask, this was on a single monitor not duals....if I could get my duals to within 1/4 stop of each other I would be happy.

Has to do with the R/T previewing. What you see in the viewer in FCP is a Proxy- optimized for speed not appearance. If you have a Kona card or are shooting out to Firewire those are your more accurate previews.
