Ever seen a ghost, ufo, experienced something paranormal, precognition, etc.

In high school, my friends and I were old enough to be out late, but too young to go out drinking. Our solution? Ghost hunting. We visited all of the alleged haunted places in our local area. The only one that I might suspect was real is a place called Bachelors Grove Cemetery. It's supposed to be super haunted so I brought my little camcorder with me to see what we could find.

I was using an old, nearly full tape, so I didn't have it recording. Just looking at the screen with the night vision on. Couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, until I turned and was looking at a big concrete bench. There was an outline of what could possibly have been a person sitting on the bench. I couldn't see anything with my naked eye. I moved the camera past it and back and it was still there in the night vision. I hit the record button and the camera died. It was fully charged and it completely died. A few minutes later the cops showed up and threatened to arrest us if we didn't leave.

After we left, I was able to get the camera working again. Battery was still full.

By the way, the figure on the bench, multiple people have seen it. Found that out by googling the place.

I got another one. Not so much a spirit tale as much as a , cough, spiritual, tale.

My neighbours mother was in the hospital dying of cancer. Their kids whom I had grown up with over the years had moved out by that time. The family dog was still in the house 2 doors down.
The dog started yelping in pain one night, around late night, that I could here it in my house. I walked over to the house and tried to comfort the dog by talking through the window.

I found out the next day the mother of the house had died. I mentioned the story about the dog howling and how I went over and tried to comfort it and around what time it was.
I guess the dog died within minutes of the familys mom dying. Her eldest daughter came over and asked me about it and she was beeming in joy. She said basically "The dog was waiting for her ."

It was literally to the minute. One of those things that makes you think sometimes.

-Cheers.

When I was a kid in Ireland there was a fairly big derelict house almost in the middle of our town. It overlooked the the towns cemetery (but then again the cemetery was surrounded by houses on all sides so that was not unusual). Everyone in town knew that house was haunted, and successive families had bought it, lived in it, and escaped it, until it was abandoned. It was very strange to see a large house with a prime plot that was derelict and overgrown in the middle of a town.

Anyway, my best friend and I after watching some horror movies decided to go in to it one night. It was about a 25 minute walk from where our houses were, and when we arrived we were happy to see the whole place was lit up by a big sodium streetlight that was right on the corner by the house.

We started climbing up on the wall and when we jumped in to the garden the sodium streetlight popped and went out, leaving us in the overgrown garden in complete darkness.

We managed to climb back over the wall, and ran back home in 10 minutes flat.

Strangely enough, during the Irish Celtic Tiger years when the economy was booming, capitalism and greed kind of swept away all the old traditions. That house was sold and was completely renovated, and last time I saw it it had become a successful boutique hotel. It was kind of like no one had time for spirits as they were making so much money.

Two incidents. Last one first...

Location scouting for a movie project I wanted to develop. A feature called "Dead Giveaway". Needed a fairly remote, interesting looking, old hotel. Found the Summit Inn, in Franklin, NC. Old structure (over 100 years, I believe). Filled with beautiful antiques. My wife and I decided to stay the weekend and scout it thoroughly, intending to adapt script scenes to fit the rooms and such.

Owners were very happy to help They warned us that it was haunted. They said a long time ago it was a residence. The young daughter of the family had fallen in love with the stable hand. Her father was furious and forbade her to see him. Sometimes she would stand in the upstairs window for hours, watching him work in the stables below. There was some speculation that she still met the boy secretly, and became pregnant by him. Knowing they could never be together, the young woman hanged herself in front of the window where she used to stand.

The owners told me that even to that day, people would see and hear strange things. For instance, in the mid to late 1800`s there was said to have been a lady in her 20`s killed in the dining room. If you stand in the dining room late at night you can see her backing towards the dining table and a man in late 1800`s clothing will stab her on the table. We found that intriguing, though we never saw it.

I should note that we were the only guests in the hotel, due to the time of season. One day while napping, my wife swore she heard a baby crying. But there was no baby there. That was strange.

Nothing else strange occurred while we were there. I shot lots of camcorder footage of the hotel and grounds, and was very excited about the possibilities for shooting 'Dead Giveaway" there.

But before we could make it happen, suddenly the hotel burned to the ground -- killing the man who owned it. Very tragic.

And "Dead Giveaway" never went a step further.
