event insurance

I just wanted to give thumbs up to:

and its underwriter:

Fireman's Fund Insurance Company

Someone broke into my car a few months back and stole an FS-100 and the pelican case it was secured in. Sadly, I had just totally emptied the car, except for that case. The pelican 1600 was locked down into my car with a thick chain, but unfortunately I was using some cheap little locks on the case itself and on one spot. The thief just cut the little locks and freed the whole thing. The car was alarmed and it did go off, but there are so many smash and grabs in SOMA, San Francisco-- no one blinked, I'm sure.

I filed a police report and a claim. This was pretty time consuming and required lots of paperwork.

Recently, received my claim check. Admittedly, it was an awkward experience to sign up for the insurance online, but here you see, they did their part.

Hope you don't ever need it, but you should have this kind of insurance. I know that a lot of high end event venues require it.

Hi Alexa,

Yes, nice thought. But let's be sure that our filmmakers here understand that you're talking about Event Insurance (mentioned in your heading). Filmmaker's (including videography) insurance requires a different policy.

Regards, Michael
