Evan Almighty Teaser Trailer

oh man, they really look like they ****ed this one up. 250 million dollars? You can see the suits swarming in to all give their "let's make sure this is as mainstream as possible" opinions. I mean, they turned this into The Freaking Santa Clause movie, but with God. I will bet you anything that some of these animals talk (I'm PRETTY sure that they wouldn't stoop so low as to have Chris Rock voice one, but I wouldn't put it past them). This looks very very bad (especially when you consider that the funniest thing in your "comedy" trailer is a clip from THE PREVIOUS MOVIE!). Not good that this is going to be attached to Borat, where people will be able to directly compare it to something that is actually funny.

Who makes a $250 million dollar comedy anyway?? Comedies don't even play outside the United States. This could be Heaven's Gate. They'll pay 100 mil in advertising for their 65 million dollar opening. But then it's straight to the gutter.

terrible!

Somebody's head is going to roll at Universal. They will NEVER make the money back. Glad I don't have shares in that company.

Funny; was walking past one of their stages (the one that caught fire last week) every day on the way back and forth between my office and our 'Andy Barker' sets.

Met a cute baby chimpanzee, in the arms of a much cuter chimpanzee wrangler...and stacks of cages with beavers, wolves, birds...you name it.

Wondered if it had any connection to "Bruce..." now, thanks to you guys, I know.

i thought the Ark Building For Dummies book was hilarious. I don't think it'll make its money back, but it does look pretty funny IMO

You mean there isn't a real 'Ark Building for Dummies...?'

I guess it's the last topic they haven't covered.

I'm so glad this bombed. I think it's great that audiences realized they were being pandered to. Just like a politician who tries to support both sides, audiences know when films are trying to please everyone. Hollywood hopefully learned a lesson from this. Take chances.

Oh, and don't hire Tom Shadayac to direct anything.

33 mil in a big summer slot is atrocious. No big studio puts out a movie in one of those summer slots that they don't expect to make *at least* 50 million on opening weekend (probably closer to 60 or 70 though). Remember the opening for the first one was 68 mil, and they were hoping (with a budget of 200 mil) to get at least that. But the movie tried to be The Santa Clause meets Passion of The Christ meets, "please everybody".
