Evan Almighty (Bruce Almighty 2)

:furious3: another ****ing retread. Step up with some originality...ain't gonna happen

Apparently Steve Carell (who plays Evan in this uncalled for fim) will be playing Agent 86 in the big screen version of Get Smart as well

I don't even know how to respond to that. Don Adams IS and ALWAYS WILL BE Agent 86. "Missed it by that much."

How do you think this affects the little people? My name is Evan... I don't want people calling me "Evan Almighty" :(

This is a great idea.

The last film sucked so badly it'll be alomost impossible to make something worse.

There are few films where the sequel is as good or better than the original. This one is a shoe in for the list.

Watch this one make millions.

I hate hollywood.

steve carrell is another second city guy, so fogirve me for sounding partial but..

steve can make anything funny. i look forward to it.

no one does dry humor like he does. especially not these days.

as for get smart, we'll have to see.

have faith people. they're aren't all gonna be The Dukes of Hazzard.

I actually liked Bruce Almighty, it was funny... So, of course, when I saw the title of this thread I though "wtf? what for?". But having read the summary on iMDb it now doesn't seem like such a bad idea. Morgan Freeman is reprising his role, Tom Shadyak is back in director's seat and Steve Carrel is building a freaking Arc... I'd say it might have potential.

ya it has potential but the idea shouldn't have been thought of... gonna wait to see some footage to really decide about it

This thing is going to suck. They've pumped 150 Million (huh?) into the film and are shooting on a schedule of 102 days for principle. It's a nightmare according to my buddy who's working on the film.

Hmm. I could do how many films with 150 Mill?

My god....are you serious?

102 days of Principal photography???????????

WTF!!!!! What are they making a god damb (no pun intended) epic here?

150million dollars?

If this movie isn't the best movie ever then the primary filmmakers should be legally bound from ever making another film.

I just found a new respect for this movie idea....

150mill? WOW. You have any idea how hard it is to make that kind of money back even in the movie business. You gotta be crazy to try...

Wait a minuite....you're joking right? Only a complete jackass would put 150mill into this movie.

I'm an idiot. I thought you were serious for a second.

My buddy is the transportation captain on this. They're shooting in South Carolina for 4 months and he's happy cause there's a hockey rink next to his hotel so he can skate when not working. I realize that this adds nothing to the conversation and apologize profusely...as you were.

Bruce Almighty was excellent, I thought. It's pretty similar to Liar Liar in that they're funny/cute movies that appeal to broad audiences.

It's very serious. and seriously stupid. At that cost, there's no way it will make money unless it does the same box office as Ice Age 2 (~70 Mill opening weekend) and then has fantastic word of mouth. Universal is the distrubutor and they're going to take a bath.

Plenty of people are making stupid amounts of money -but so it goes with studio pics. But they're shooting less than a page a day. I cannot imagine that. How do you keep interested? Uh, I guess you go play hockey next door and hope you don't get a slapshot to the head.

Solomojo: your buddy must be making a ton of dough. Transport guys always make tons of cash because of all the turnaround. Another couple of pics like this and he can finance your next film.
