Errors and Omissions Insurance

I understand that this is crucial for any film, however I am on a tight budget already and momentarily can not afford this.

How would potential distributors view a project sin E & O insurance, if they were interested in the Product, would an alternative option such as them putting up dollars for this neccessity be a consideration to them? Or would they refuse to touch it at all no matter what?

I'm doing a surf video, I've seen alot of these types of vids in the market place. Aside from it being extremely saturated, alot of these vids are absolute garbage.

So how do these junk films make it to distribution when they obviously were shot on a shoestring?

well? I thought this would be a more important topic where people would want to prove there knowledge on the subject.

I would have to say that business practices vary, and whether a distributor requires you to have E&O coverage would depend on the distributor, the subject matter, and exactly what is on the video. There may be other insurance or legal issues even more pressing. Your contract with them will tell you a lot.
