Error Exporting

So i just encountered this problem. I was getting error messages when rendering. So i reset the scratch drive to my external hardrive with over 150gb of available space. So that resolved the rendering problem. But when i tried to export it, it gave me the error message ERROR OUT OF DISK SPACE. But how can it be since i have rest drive to one with a lot of space.

any suggestions?

Have to ask just incase, you've done all the typical things...

Restart FCP, Restart Mac, copy and paste contents into a new sequence, copy and paste contents into a new project all together, exporting an unrendered timeline (let it render on export)...
