Error burning printable dvds

Just got my Epson printer and some Fuji printable dvd-rs.

I'm all ready to burn my dvd, pop the blank disc into the burner I use all the time.... and get it ejected saying it can't validate the media.:crybaby:

I'm trying to research this and am wondering if anyone has had the same experience.

Do older dvd burners have trouble with the printable dvds? I popped in non-printable dvd and it burned fine. Could I have gotten a bad batch of dvds? I tried 2 of them with the same result.

I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 and it ejects my printable disks as well. I thought perhaps my printer is broken, but I haven't taken in to be looked-at yet. Henry mindfulproductions.com

It's actually the dvd drive in the pc that's ejecting them, don't know if I made that clear.

However I bought some new printable dvds from a different brand (Verbatim) which worked fine. Maybe a bad batch after all?

They were dvd-r, which the burner has done before. Then I tried a different brand of printable dvd-r, and it worked fine. So I'm going with the 'bad batch o' dvd-r' theory at this time.

the printable surface shouldn't make a difference, right?

get yourself a lacie burner. they rule. i have burned prodisc, optodisc, fuji, verbatim, sony, taiyo yuden, linkyo, and accu discs without any issues at all. the best hub printable dvds are taiyo yuden, and the best non hub printables are accu (they are great quality, don't think i've had a coaster, and they're cheap...and they have no irritating logo in the hub.)
also i've had an epson R200 for a year now and no problems. just don't forget---NEVER be tempted by generic ink. it costs like a quarter of the price and is not worth it. they clog the nozzles.

I've gone through thousands of DVD-Rs on my G5's SuperDrive, and the only ones that I've never ever ever had a problem with are Maxells. HP's were the worst.
