error and omission ins for public access

trying to buy time on a cable system and they require Eand O ins I never had to do this before on diff systems, just the use of a disclaimer was enough. Anyone know where i can get quotes for the ins? seems like if its paid programming I shouldn't need it, I think its cables way of discouraging the use of leased access time since the prices are government regulated and they don't make a profit from it. Any help is appreciated

I think it's more likely that your cable provider is trying to cover their rear ends in order to avoid a potential lawsuit, since they would be the 'deep pockets'.

A quick Google for "errors omissions insurance" brings up a plethora of providers. Good luck!

an e&o policy for an average film is going to run $3,000 to $7,000 depending on the scope of the coverage and the content of your film. i'm really surprised that public access TV is asking for these now, sort of defeats the purpose of "public access"...
