Equipment Pricing?

There's been a couple of month or longer gigs that have come up and renting my camera and other equipment have come up. I've never worked on anything longer than a couple weeks and have never rented my equipment out for more than a few days at most. So when I get asked, I really have no idea how to quote a price for longer than a few days.

Is there a formula?

thanks,

Well, usually the formula is you have a day price, then for a week you charge for 3 days, then for a month you charge for 3 weeks. So you're charging for about 9 days of full price for one month. It doesn't seem like much, but if you have your day rate priced fairly it should be good money. Like if you are renting an HVX200 and tripod for $200/day, which is fair, then that's $600 per week or $1,800 per month. You could probably even cut that to $1,500 and be happy, because that's about 1/3 of the cost of the camera.
