I highly doubt he cuts on film - I bet he has an EDL for most of his stuff.

No way Minority Report and AI never went through a digital stage :P

That's true. As much as Spielberg is a film purist, he sure doesn't mind using CGI whenever possible.

Either way, one of yours fave director, mr. spielberg will never shoot his film HD, or dv. He has profected film and he is going to stick with it till the end. He said in many articles. Mentiones it a lot.

I bet he and his good pal Lucas get into heavy discussions and fights about film vs video. :P

I wonder if Spielberg uses the flatbed to put up a rough cut to give to the editor? OR maybe he's just full of shite in the quote.

Ya, I think so (not completely sure) :-/

He has a couple very aged old school editors that do almost all his work to a point and then people from this century probably come in and bat clean up on the Avid. Once these old timers die of old age he will find a hard time doing it this way. and I don't think he's does much more then advise in editing - not much real hand on.

He is known to be pretty stubborn on how things should be done as they were 20 years ago. Odd that him and Lucas even work together. They are in two seperate decades ;)
