Epic Camera Housing  $369

Hey gang, I just bought the Epic "Elite" camera housing for my DVX-100 Looks real cool!! I'm taking it with me on a 3 wk. trip to Fiji although it will get a hell of a lot of use down here in the Florida Keys!! They are designed for use in or near water.......Recommended for shallow dives, snorkeling, boating, surfing, shooting in a downpour,.........and I think it would work well in desert or dusty areas! It obviously does not include a dome port lens but looks like this young company is working on it Will test it out over next few weeks!!Have some video work lined up and quite a few free -lance band gigs with local R&B ,Reggae and Jazz groups in Fiji! I'm a musician/videographer and usually try to line up both kinds of work to travel in an area! if I get a gig in one field it's just amazing how it seems to work out landing a gig in the other! Plan on shooting about 40 hrs. of tape! I pray I get all my gear there and back in one peice!

I own an epic ,just one problem, because the housing is clear you tend to get a glare on the inside of the lens. I think that I am going to paint it white , hopefully will fix the problem . will post some pics soon

Veddy interesting!!!! Is that really the answer to the problem?? How bout a gradient or polarizer filter have you addressed probem to manufacturer? Thier response? Appreciate your response as I plan on shooting a lot of water footage . Speaking of footage ................hurricane Charlie approaches!! Key West......... My home!!!

dont know if a polorizer will work or not I will try tomorrow , part of the problem is that the epic logo painted on the housing throws a shadow through the glare , thats why I think painting it will work, not to mention it should keep the camera cooler since the camera wont be in direct sun light. I think that heat may be an issue when shooting surfing or anything above water in tropical climates. My camera was cooking the other day shooting in 71 degree water the air was probably 82 degrees. will keep you posted

Good stuff -- I'm just curious to see what the setup looks like. I don't have plans to do any water shooting (although it would be fun), just wondering. Thanks.
