Eountry EMW

The Countryman EMW seems to have a good reputation as a lavalier mic. However according to B&H it comes in 3 flavors:

" The EMW is available in flat, shelved and peaked EQ curves. This version features a shelved EQ curve at 2kHz for enhanced high frequency response."

Which is the best option to get for training and interview videos?

Also, does it come with everything I need? or do I have to buy extra items such as cables, etc?

Thanks very much in advance,

Dan

Shelved - With Small Bump In Hi End For To Compinsate Placing Under Cloths ,
The Mike Comes With Shity Wind Protection And Some Clips , Good Enouth For Interalss Interviw , Not For Outside Windy Situation ,
Very Good Product , I Have Afew Like That And They Live For Long Time Without Changing The Color

I actually really like this lav a lot. The price is definitely right, and it's waterproof. You want the one with the peak in the higher frequencies.

As far as accessories go, the ones that come with it are good. No lav manufacturer has really good wind protection while still being able to hide the mic.

As far as other cables and stuff, do you want to go wireless, or hardwired?

Thanks, Oleg and Dave, for your replies. However, now I am a bit more confused.

It appears as though Oleg is recommmending the "shelved" options and Dave is recomminding the "peaked" option. I certainly would appreciate clarification.

As far as wired vs wireless, I am not in a position to afford the wireless, so I will be using a wired model.

Thanks, again.

if you dont barry the mike inside the coat you dont need picked , shelved would be enouth

I have the peaked but it's almost always under a shirt. Sounds great (I am not a pro). If it's going to be hidden, buy the peaked (easier to solve wind problems). OR get the B6 and you won't need to hide it, unless it's a really tight shot. I like the EMW but sometimes wish I had a B6 (or two).

HTH, Chris
