For an entry level position at a production company, should you pretty much expect to be making about $25K a year?

I might be hired to work on a nationally televised TV program soon, as an entry level production associate. I'd get a ton of experience, it'd be an awesome job, etc. etc. But it's in an expensive area and it'll pay $25K plus overtime, but no benefits. Sounds like promotion comes quick though. Is this pretty average for a position like this?

sounds right. that's in the ball park of $10 to $15 an hour. i started as a runner at a motion picture advertising company at $8/hour. three years later i was an editor there making much, much more than that. that's the type of industry this is. a friend of mine has been slaving away for two years at an EPK production company as an AP making very little money, but plenty of contacts within the studios (her job demanded it). flash forward to a week ago, she was just hired by Focus Features to head their EPK/DVD production slate. i have to wonder if they know she's only 24.

Yeah, I'm definately taking the job if it is offered to me. I was just curious. Any tips on living cheaply?
