Ent Attorney / Copyrights

I'm currently working on a full legnth feature. I just recently completed the trailor. However, before I begin showing the trailor what legal steps do I need to take as far as protecting my material? I'm thinking I need an attorney. If so, does anyone know how much something like this would cost? I need all kinds of agreements besides copyrights.

You can copyright your script without an attorney. It is usually a good idea to enlist an attorney before you begin a production. They can help you take care of some potential problems before the fact, which is usually easier and cheaper than trying to do it after the fact. The cost will depend on the attorney and what you want them to do. If you are in a large city, you can usually find a few entertainment lawyers.

Thanks for the reply Jim. The script is still being touched up. I am going to copyright the script ASAP once it is finalized. I need more in depth legal advice. I am located in Detroit, MI. If anyone knows of a good ENT lawyer, please fwd me the info!
