Enough room for lighting?

Hey guys I'm looking at buying some of the Britek G-250's and want to know how any of you who use big 24" x 24" softboxes ever manage to light small bedrooms and things like that?

I think back on some of my shoots using just photofloods and small rooms and can't image how you'd fit 3 briteks with softboxes in rooms like that.

I'm not sure why you'd want to try fitting three three softboxes in a small bedroom. A single soft box and a few smaller fixtures should be enough to light anything in a small room. Are you considering buying a kit of three? If so, you're probably not going to need to use them all at once.

Holy brightness batman! It's going to look washed out. Sometimes less is better, I find myself bringing out all these lights, then turning them off and finding I like the look better.

I'd say do one, with an egg crate preferably. I'd couple that with a few of the Lowel Pro lights. I've been using those like crazy lately. Esp. with the large spring clamps to place 'em in places I couldn't with a stand. Those things just rock.

It would be better to layer the light from diffferent angles and flag off some to add some depth. Look at where the light would come from with the existing lights and try to start lighting from there...experiment, have fun.

Well I'm not saying I'm going to use all three in a small room. But even one for as far as they stick out and as large as they are. In small bedrooms I've used a couple 250 watters before no problem. They were bounced, but still. They were photofloods. I've never had my hands on good lighting equipment. I'm excited to be able to clip gels to barn doors and focus the beam and use a softbox. I just don't know how I'm going to fit these big lights into small rooms. I guess it's more of a wait and see.

A favorite of mine in small bedrooms (which usually have low, textured, white callings) is to use a 600watt open face and bounce it off the ceiling. It gives softer light than a softbox, little shadow and doesn't take up nearly as much room.

Softboxes take up space, there is not a lot you can do about that. Try a china ball or bounce lighiting. You could use a bigger bedroom.
