he used a viviar Close UP lens with +4 strength. if you click on his picture in the middle of the page it explains that. Since the lens is a convex lens, it acts as a converging lens just like a condenser. so instead of using a plano-convex lens, he used a simple Close up lens (CU) to do the job. on ebay you'll find them cheap and easy.

But I have a dubt. If use this type of condenser it´s very simple and gives great images (in my opinion), why million and millions of dvx members of DVXusers look for another kind of condenser?
