ENG-type handgrips

The lower left side of this Cavsion web page...

http://www.exco.it/pagine/cavision/matte/panasonicdvx100.htm

... shows a sunshade/mattebox type gizmo that sports just what I've been looking for, compact handgrip that maybe is even offest to the left side of the camera that provides just enough balance for shooting on the fly. Anyone use this or know of an alternative hangrip that mounts thusly and you can also MAYBE even add a rear zoom to? Thanks!

Re: ENG-type handgrips

hey dis..where's you pick them up? what did they set you back? didn't see any prices on their site.

Re: ENG-type handgrips

I have a print out of Summer of 2003's price list. You may want to contact Cavision and have them email you a current list but for the dual grips and rod connectors they want $89.00.

You could send them an email to get a current price list.

Re: ENG-type handgrips

i have a guy who makes custom grips, but basically the ones i use are like a biicycle handlebar which screw into the tripod thread on the DVX.
Theyre about $50AUD
email me at djpadre@hotmail.com

theyre gripped with foam, habe a metal plate with a rubber top so the grip is fine, i have 2 of these for both my DVX units and they work beautifully

forgot to mention, theyre just grips.. no matte box or anything else..

Just grips right ? not really shoulder mounts ?

Re: ENG-type handgrips

sounds good. ygm, padre. would like more info. i did get cavisions prices, but w/o seeing their product, hard to tell.
in my initial handholding of the dvx, i think an offest handgrip would be perfect for the left balance and perhaps an option of a 2nd right hand side with a possible rear zoom adaptation. far fetched? to my mind so far the balance of the dvx needs a new approach other then the cumbersome shoulder mounts.

Re: ENG-type handgrips

further on this, cavision says they're discontinuing them models for the dvx, so maybe when they're dumping them sub 50 bux. i may hve to rifle thru the ancient photo boxes at b&h used or some such nyc haunt to find a cob-webbed hasselbald grip and fashion one myself.
