ENG (370) camera question

Hi,

I'm getting close to buying a 370 and one sortof silly question occurs to me -- can you use a 370 with earmuffs on ?

I intend to use this (at times) on shooting ranges where I normally wear Peltor full size muffs. I know you can wear earphones, but how slim do they have to be ?

Regards,
Gavin Melville.

The viewfinder does pull out the usual amount but if it becomes a problem you can always look at the LCD screen on the side of the camera, you can rotate it so it sits flush in the camera body and can be viewed side on.

I use sony 700DJ headphones and have not found them a problem but larger noise defenders may cause problems but they would with virtually every ENG camera on the market.

Wearing my Sony 7506's with my head up to the VF is sometimes troublesome, unless I extend the VF out all the way, so I guess not more than 3.5cm (1.4") in thickness. What annoys me more than anything is if I knock the headphones on the camera body, so if the muffs are soft on the outside, it probably won't be a problem. Otherwise, I do as Gary says when using headgear and use the side LCD if I'm using a tripod.

Just to be differant i use a very nice pair of in ear senheiser headphones, theyre about £70 here in UK. They give me the same noise isolation as other makes of over ear headphones and have terrific frequency response. Best of all for me is that they dont interphere at all with the camera. I know the purest would probably disagree but to my ears they seem just as good and i can just get on and film without headbutting the camera body every few minutes. Im on Holiday at moment so havent got access to them so i dont have their model number to hand sorry.
