Eneloop pro vs. regular

Looking for decent rechargeable batteries (AA) for my Tascam dr-680. I do a lot of run and gun work and I don't want to worry about an external battery pack. I have used the regular (white) Eneloops for years with my other devices -- does anyone know what the battery life is with the dr-680/Eneloop pros?

Also, can they be charged with my old white Eneloop charger?

Thanks

Eight AA cells just plain don't have enough juice for a 680.. especially w/phantom powered mics.. unless you enjoy disassembling your rig every half hour or so. Get a external 12V battery system. A cheaper option is the Chinese Li-Po batts, affordable and work good in my experience. I tested some and got 7-8 hours constant run time. (w/o Phantom pwr.) On a typical film shoot, they lasted a 12hr day. Unfortunately they take 12-14 hours to fully charge, so at least two would be recommended. Probably about the same cost as a bunch of Enloops with out the fuss.

Yeah, AAs are really just a backup. That said, you get I think about 20% more life out of the Pros at the cost of less charge cycles. Regular ones are better value.
