Re: End action on DVD architect

i canno tremeber what its called now, but the box on the upper right, with all the properties and selections. i go to the end action properties box, click loop, and burn. but it just doesnt take.

Re: End action on DVD architect

One thought, you could point it back to itself (instead of using the loop command). I know that you can point it to another clip to play. Maybe commanding it to play itself again would help. I don't have DA installed on this machine, so I can't remember the command. I thinks it's "Goto Clip" or "Play Clip" or something.

Re: End action on DVD architect

I also had a bit of trouble getting the menues to loop. Hence the running time of the menu is 60 minutes now.
Anyone?

Re: End action on DVD architect

Re: End action on DVD architect

OK gang,

Let's get a few things straight. Are we talking about menus looping, or the content? That has not been made clear.

Are we talking about DVDA 1 or 2? ( I assume you are using the current version unless it is stated otherwise).

If you want help with a specific problem, you are going to have to provide DETAILS opn what you are doing, not "I don't know what it's called, but it's on the upper right".

Also, if you try and use the menu background to play as if it's content, you should be aware that the is a 1 GB limit on all the menu content.

mm u right dude. Its called the Optimized DVD dialogue box. and it is DVDA 2. And its the main feature i want to loop, not the menu.

Re: End action on DVD architect

The Optomize DVD dialog only deals with compression settings.

To loop your media, double-click it in the project overview or its button on the menu. Under Media Properties (on the right side of the interface), go to End Action and set it to Link. Then, set the Destination to be the same piece of media.

The other thing you can do, as it sounds you don't even care about a menu, is to set the media to auto start, have your menu be a blank, black slate, and have the delayed (auto start) only be about half a second.

I've done this for a client, and the effect is that they place the DVD in, as soon as it reads, it basically goes right into playing the media, then only has about a half second pause before playing over ... and over ... and over ... etc.

If the other doesn't work for you, give this a shot. Let me know if you need the exact buttons / sub items to edit for this process.

Re: End action on DVD architect

hi envision, umm actualy i could use your method as well as other methods. if you could give me a quick step by step that would be great.

I lost a job because i couldnt get the video to loop. I work for a video artist, and he was gonna pay me a substantial sum of money to do the rendering and DVD portion of a Video project he was workig on. i couldnt get the video to loop with my old program, so i descided i finally needed to bite the bullet and get a real editing program and DVD architecture suite.

the short gap loop is fine, in some cases, but in others i would need a continuous uninterrupted loop. which i think the pointing the media back to itslef would work out fine. just need do actually try that. thank you

Re: End action on DVD architect

If ALL you have is the one media project that you want to loop over and over for display, etc., and you don't really want ANY menu - then do the following:

1. Ensure you have no background media or music for your menu, so that it's a clean, black slate.
2. Edit your END ACTION options
a) Command = Activate Button
b) Time Out = 00:00:00:29 (the shortest time I've been able to set it for)
c) Button = Whatever media you want to play ... once you've inserted the media, it will be one of the options in your dropdown box under Button selection.

For your media, delete the thumbnail, then edit the text (delete it as well), so that all you're left with is an empty text box ... then I just shrink the box down so that it looks like nothing in on the screen ... in reality, a media clip is present and will simply auto play immediately, then loop over over.

Hope that helps!

Re: End action on DVD architect

Envison,

It's a lot easier to just create a Single Movie project which has no menu (but still let's you set the media end action).

Hey Gary, you're right, it does sound easier ... I just have no idea how to have the media project with no menu ... I'll have to play around with it. Thanks for the suggestion.
