Encore locks up when attempting to burn project

Every time I try to burn a project, the build window locks up and freezes the whole program. To top it off I can't kill the app in any way, I have to restart my whole computer.

When the build window comes up the format is Blu-Ray output is Blu-ray image. Even though my project settings are DVD and I don't even have a Blu-ray burner installed. So I assume the program is looking for a blu-ray burner, can't find one and locks up.

So essentially encore is totally useless to me. Everytime the build window comes up the program is locked, hence not being able to complete any authoring.

What can I do?
 
Here's the fix. I have two optical drives. I had to go to system>device manager and disable one drive. Then it worked.

This also is the fix if it hangs on the "come for the blu-ray, stay for the flash" splash screen.
