Encore DVD Error Message - Help!

This the first time I got this error message in Adobe Encore DVD 1.5 :

"Sorry, an abnormal condition has been detected. Before quiting, you have one chance to save your project."

I edited my video source files using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, exported the video & audio sequence using the MPEG2-DVD option in Premiere, created my own Menus in Adobe Photoshop CS2, imported the timeline & menus into Adobe Encore DVD 1.5.

I set up all the menu links in Encore, checked the project to catch any errors & even tested the whole project in Encore to make sure everything is working right.

Then I set the project to transcode. Only towards the very very end of the authoring stage, just after the "writing lead-out" stage, then I see the word "cancelling project" & the error message described above appears.

I checked on Google & I tried this way to rectify the problem :

<I found that you must delete (or put to 0) the following key in your register base:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoRecentDocsHistory HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer \ NoRecentDocsHistory>

I did follow the instructions to change the registry by putting the above key to zero. I even tried uninstalling Encore & reinstalling a clean version of it again. But still the same error message.

From my Google research, it seems to be that Adobe Encore has a bug, or Encore is not very stable, or some code got corrupted. Uninstalling & reinstalling didn't help at all.

Please, can anyone point me to a solution? I need to render a DVD with menus &b right now, I can because of the error message.

Thanks in advance.

You might try re-encoding your video. I always try to export uncompressed avi files, then let encore transcode. I had a problem (I think the same one you are having) and re-exported, making sure I did uncompressed avi and it worked.

Hi Cryogenic Filmworks. Thank you for your helpful reply. I found out the reason for the Encore DVD error message was not a fault of any software on my PC, rather, my internal DVD writer's life had finally expired. So when I got a new DVD writer to replace the old one, I could burn my Encore DVD project to DVD. So now it appears that the problem has been solved :)
