Encore and Looping

Hope that there are some Encore users here. I have version 1. I have a DVD playing in a booth and I want it to repeat without having to push any buttons.

I have gone to Properties, Menu, set End Action to Chapter One, Duration to 1 second, Loop # to 17. This doesn't work . What am I doing wrong. Seems as though it should be a simple action.

Set the End Action of the Timeline to chapter 1 of that Timeline.

1. Press F11 on your keyboard
2. Select your Timeline
3. In the Properties Palette, set the End Action to the Timeline you have selected
4. Press Ctrl+Alt+Spacebar to preview your project
5. Press End on your keyboard to go to the Timeline's End Action
6. If the End Action is correct the Timeline should start from the beginning=looping.
7. Save your project and burn the DVD!

..yeah , just set the end action of the last timeline or menu thats played to the beginnig of what you want to play. and it will loop. if your last thing played is a menu.. make sure that the menu times out .. so give the menu a duration of the time you want it to display.. and an end action to go to the beginning. dont give it a loop #

you dont set a loop # to make something loop back somewhere else.. that loop # makes the current thing(timline. menu.) you have selected .. loop the # of times you put there, before it performs the selected end action.. so if you have a motion menu and you want it to loop 10 times before it starts playing the DVD automatically . youd set the duration of the motion menu for the duration of the animation.. which encore does by itelf by default if there is video in the background of the menu.. then you set it to loop 10 times. then after it loops 10 times..(which means it wil play through 11 times.. cause it will play once before it starts the first loop) it will perform the end action you set. so if you want it to play through once and then do the end action .. dont make it loop. just set the end action and your done.

Since you have Encore version 1, before you do anything else, don't forget to download the patch 1.1. It will save you some major troubles down the road when you transcode.

Thanks, you are all great. The advice solved the problem. My DVD is now playing continously at a county fair that will attract 400,000 people. The project focuses on the towns history and stories.
