Oh I saw that. Quite a good year for selections, IMHO. They are also going to preserve "All The Presidents Men". That is one of the films I watch over and over and over again. Come on, directed by Alan J. Pakula, screenplay by William Goldman, DPed by Gordon Willis..... SHAAAAAA!!!!
There have only been a handful of movies over the years where you know how it is going to end when you sit down to watch it, and yet it still has you on the edge of your seat because of the way the story is told. That is not easy to do, and ATPM pulled it off.
So which version of Empire is it?
Didn't Lucasfilm take back as many copies as they could of the original theatrical cut of all the original trilogy films back in the 90's?
I know there are a few prints floating around or at least in the hands of collectors, but still.
Yeah but I'm old school. I like the transparent snow speeders, the boxes around the Tie Fighters and the places they forgot to rotoscope the light sabers.I think Empire had the least damage done of the three special editions. I don't love some of the additions, but then the snowspeeders aren't transparent anymore, so it's an even trade-off for me.
