Disclaimers are a cop out. It's a CYA move and thats it.

"But here it is anyway! Enjoy!"

It doesn't have to be a CYA move, NBC wans't responsible for the accident. But that doesn't mean that they couldn't acknowledge what happened, obviously they didn't produce the skit to make fun of airline accident victims, but they could have simply wished the 49 families their condolenses -- it didn't need to be an apology.

I bet if an NBC exec or celeberity was on that plane they would have mentioned something about it.

They didn't need to apologize for the skit, but how about a "sorry for your loss."
