Emergency! Problem with a P2 Card download

Downloading clips off a 16gb card onto a macbook pro in a hotel room using a duel adapter, exporting onto a usb connected hard drive.

Laptop was accidentally closed a few minutes after the transfer was started. When I opened it up, it wouldn't "wake up" so I had to do a hard shut down and restart.

When comp restarts p2cms says there is nothing on the card (although it was full). And apple finder says its empty as well.

Put the card into the camera and get a red FORMAT ERROR message and the playback mode shows no clips....

Is there anything I can do to try and recover the footage from this card or is it lost for good?

Getting desperate as this card contained interview footage that will be impossible to get again.
 
Sorry to hear another one lost a Duel... Did you try the repair clips function in the camera.

There aren't any clips on the card anymore to even try a repair function on... its as if closing the laptop accidentaly somehow formated the card?

There is 1 clip that is damaged on the external hard drive... how do I repair a clip that is no longer on a card but on a drive?
 
Is there any data recovery software or something that may be able to pull some of the clips off the card? Willing to try anything at this point
