i have already capture my 24p and 24pa footage at 29.97 without the pulldown. I want to work on a 29.97 timeline. is there a way i can bring my 24pa footage to work on a 29.97 time line? or is it better for me to recapture my 24pa footage with the pulldown and do the reverse telecine to work on a 23.98 timeline?? We are juste putting the final project on mini dv or beta cam ... does it change anything working on a 29.97 timeline or 23.98???

does someone nows really how to solve this problem please. Ive heard to much different things on that.

im a little confused now????

we need help please!

thanks alot!

You need to be at 29.97fps to go back to tape, so the workflow would be:

remove advanced on capture, edit on 23.98fps timeline, playback with 3:2 selected to go back to tape. However, to rev telecine all your 24pNormal footage can be painful.

So, I'd convert your 24pA footage to 24pN. Two ways I know to do this:

1) capture 24pA, remove pulldown, send back to tape with 3:2 pulldown, recapture edit.
2) capture 24pA, apply my G Advanced Pulldown Converter plugin to clip on 29.97fps timeline. This works well if there's only a small amount of 24pA as it's quick and easy. You can find that filter in my Standards Conversion package at www.nattress.com .

i have only one tape on 24p normal. so it would be easier to recapture the 24pa with the pulldown and do the telecine on the 24p normal and work on a 23.98 timeline. Is this ok??

Sure, but to go out to DV you'll play out with the add 3:2 option in the 23.98fps timeline. How are you going out to BetacamSP? Does your card support addition of 3:2 pulldown, or are you making a dub from the DV version?
