Email and website?

I've been using Godaddy for both for many years. What do you guys recommend should one wish to have company email addresses without having to pay recurring annual charges?

MainstreetHost said they build strong SEO websites as a one time charge.

Can you buy a domain name, pay once for email, pay once for a website and set up shop?
(and maintain your website code rarely as needed)

yes and no.
A domain/URL is "rented" for an annual charge.
Hosting is also rented for a monthly /annual charge.

My hosting has CPanel and so includes as many email addresses as I want create/use also email forwarders at no additional charge.

Website. I paid a one off charge for some web templates for my web site that I maintain myself.
I assume you could do the same for a web shop.
However you will need a merchant account for taking credit card payments. These usually have a monthly charge The alternative is paypal?

The thing is to pick your hosting company. I would not use Godaddy, The outfit I use is local to me in the UK (actually less than 15 miles away) and I get to talk to the owners directly.
For me the hosting is not expensive https://www.stratagem.host/

So look around locally to you.

I’ve started using gandi.net for domain names. Email addresses are included in the domain annual fee. Then create a droplet on DigitalOcean with an Nginx server and anything else I need like OpenSSL and Python. Set the A records on the domain and you’re good to go. Just add content.

Thank you. I'm already heavily invested with Godaddy for multiple domains and website builders. Just one email plan though. Not sure how big a pain it will be for me to switch over.
Someone asked me for advice because they are about to start new so I figured you guys would have good input.
