is it just me or does this movie look really bad? Kirstin Dunst is getting bloatier by the movie. Orlando Bloom can't act. And the story just seems... uninteresting. What happened to Crowe? Jerry Maguire is one of my favorite movies ever.

It's so true. Crowe has this elitism when it comes to "discovering" music nobody else has heard of and he seems to put them in his movies regardless of if they're appropriate or not, just to be like "I heard this before youuuuu did!"

it's too bad. Cause he seems like a nice guy.
 
I've heard bad reviews... I loved Vanilla Sky and JM

But Rottentomatoes is a good gauge on whether to fork out the $10 for the theater, or just rent it later.

I'm gonna have to be the odd man out. I've been waiting for this film for months. As a huge fan of Cameron Crowe I think this is going to be an incredible film. That's probably helped by three things.

1. I'm a sucker for finding-yourself-road-pictures.
2. I'm a sucker for I-never-knew-my-father-while-he-was-alive pictures.
3. I've been trying to write this story for the last three years (but it looks like Crowe beat me to it and did it better).

This things are probably generated by personal experience and history more than anything else, but to each his own. I'm going to go see it tonight, and I'll post my thoughts after viewing it. I'm not a huge Dunst fan, but judging by the trailers this could be the film that causes me to see Bloom as an actor instead of as an elf.

EDIT: Oh, and the soundtrack is great too. :thumbsup:

Didn't anyone already see a movie called "GARDEN STATE"? A great movie in my opinion that came out like a year ago!

Doesn't the premise of this one seem VERY familiar?
 
really? hmm, I might have to pick it up this weekend then. I had three people tell me that it was blah........ see, that's why I like seeing sh!t for myself.... lol
