I am trying to find the worst, most bland, stereotypical elevator music possible. If you have any names of songs or artists I would really appreciate it. I am trying to shoot a cliche scene and I need help with the music for it. Thanks in advance. -Josh

I was going to say go record some, but now that I think of it, I can't remember the last time I heard music in an elevator.

Not that I promote stealing music, but if you do a limewire search on "musak", you might find something.

Oh, you know what....Napolean Dynamite had some great elevator music type stuff for trasnitions, you might be able to use some of that.

The problem with recording it is you are still using music you need to get a clearance on. What I have used with good results in the past is a program called "Band in a Box". You can tell it to create a piece in the style of... As a great composition tool its a bit , ah , lacking. But for creating "elevator music" it's great. Cross platform. in fact old versions ran on Atari and Commodore computers.

I believe the classic, cliche elevator music would be a muzak-ish version of "Girl From Ipanema".

Also, don't use "HELP!!!!@!@#!@" in your subject, it is annoying :)

Don't use girl form ipanema. C'mon, soooo cliché...

musak is the right expression for those instrumental, bland, versions fo famous songs. I once heard a Beatles "muzak" album - Terrible! For brazilian toned-down ambient Bossa-Nova, the obvious choice would be sergio mendes, although it is not exaclty "muzak". The good news is that the Music is actually pretty good. But maybe that's not what you're looking for...

"Tijuana Taxi" is also a very good standard for "waiting music"...

This proves my assertion that it is the perfect music for the scene you are trying to shoot.

You could be right but that is going to be one expensive piece of elevator music to get the rights to.
