Hey everyone,

I recently sold my Zacuto EVF Pro since it's not compatible anymore with my new camera (GH4). What I loved about it was its lightweight and sturdiness.
Now I'm on the hunt for a new EVF that does support a 1080p50 signal with an option to a 4K signal over HDMI.

The first thing that came in my mind was the SmallHD DP4. But in many stores it's already discontinued, so I'm wondering why that is. Is the DP4 outdated?
So that brought me to the retina Cineroid. It looks like a great choice, but it's only 3.2". From experience with my Zacuto (which is also 3.2"), I found that I'm missing a slightly larger screen sometimes (like the DP4 4").

Are there any other brands I should know about? At this point I'm jumping back and forward between the SmallHD and Cineroid..

Thanks!

Hi there.
I bought a used Kinotehnik LCDVFE recently and am very happy with it.
The supplied mounting system is very convenient, solid and ergonomic, the in frame RGB histogram function is extremely useful and the focus assist works very well (though not quite as well as the DP4 by all accounts).
The function buttons are a little unwieldly, although you can purchase a proprietary remote control which covers all functions except On/Off, and is supposed to work very well. It is powered by AA batteries, which may be an advantage or dissadvantage, according to your circumstances.
I owned a Zacuto EVF Pro previously and wasn't too keen on it. I far prefer the Kinotehnik. It just all round easier.
Hope that helps,

Tim
