Electronic Cigarettes

Kinda interested in using them. I can't seem to stop smoking "analog" cigarettes and was just wondering if anyone has had any positive experiences with them. If so, which one and from where. Thanks.

The pros: They rock. Much cleaner tasting, but still feels just like a cigarette. Different types/strengths of liquid tobacco to suit your needs and you can move down in strengths to help you quit. The first day you get one you should be able to not smoke a real cig at all. It takes some getting used to, but read up on how exactly to inhale etc. and you're good to go. I was totally surprised on how well it held up to a real cig. I was expecting it to be a fluke, but it really is as satisfying as the real deal.

The cons: Their kind of a pain in the ass. The "atomizers" don't last very long (mine was 100% for about a month, then it got annoying but still worked for another 6 weeks or so). Same with the batteries... they wear out rather quickly. If you're serious about quitting, you may be able to come off of them before they wear out.

All that being said, the most important thing is to find a good one. Go to this e-cig forum and start reading reviews to find the best one on the market now. It's been a year since I used mine (I quit totally for awhile with help from the e-cigs, but I'm back at the real thing now after some hard times), so I'm sure the ones I used are now out of date and there are better ones on the market.

Oh, one more thing... don't bother with the pre-loaded filters. They're useless after 10 minutes. Get empty one's (or just use up the pre-loaded ones) and a small bottle of liquid in whatever strength you want - a pack a day "lights" smoker should be around 16-18 or so - and load a drop in for every other cigarette or so. You should be able to find a good "starter kit" once you find the best one on the market that has everything you need, including the liquid.

Good luck

After 10 years of smoking, with dozens of real attempts to quit, I finally did it on halloween. I tried the E-Cigs, they were ok, but when it runs out or you can't get it working, or the battery dies, guess what you'll be back to smoking.. I tried the ones from 7-11. Decent, the menthols were the best, but its still just like smoking.

What it comes down to is you being in a state of mind to quit. You have to be ready to quit. You have to be committed to quitting. The first few days are the hardet, then it gets easier. The patches helped control the urges a bit but sheer will-power is what's going to eventually lead you to be successful. Over 5 weeks later and I am so very glad that I stopped. I know, for a fact, that I can never "just have 1" cause it will lead back to smoking. So no more. I wish you the best and hope that you can find a way to dump the most worthless, most pointless, worst, nastiest and stupidest habit ever invented.
