Electrical question - Berkey Colortran 1KW

I'd like to get both of these Colortran fresnels but I'm unsure if they are useable. The description says "Currently wired for 20A "stage pin" type plugs," is that just the plug or is that also the electrical requirements? I know very little about electricity and wiring right now, it's something I need to work on, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to get my hands dirty and rewire them if that's what is needed.

Thanks

Yes, you can get "edison" plugs from Home Despot and rewire them very easily. I'd buy them for the price.

Thanks, J. Thanks, Richard. Greatly appreciated.

I sent the poster an email about barn doors and what type of bulbs would need to be purchased. If the barndoors aren't available I'll get the measurements and see what can be purchased.

Run don't walk, that's a steal. Seriously.

I have several Colortran fresnels, they're well made.

Get the lamps on eBay.

The seller finally contacted me. He doesn't have barndoors but he is going to dig some gel holders for me.

I got some info on the bulbs. I was linked here to the BWN series. Specs:

Q1000T8/4CL/TP 1000W 120V 3200K 176-081 176081 39792 Q1000T7/4CL 250 Hours 28500 Lumens 3200°K T7 G9.5 MOL 4.5" C-13D

Now, I know so little about numbers and how they translate to parts and specs and all that. Is there any info in there that represents the type of socket or plug those bulbs are? I'd like to look for bulbs elsewhere but I need to know what to purchase.

Richard, you have no idea how helpful you have been. Thank you so much for everything. Once business picks up, as well as my budget, I'll be stopping by to pick up some lights from you. Especially that LED panel!

I'm going to pick these fresnels up on Friday and get going on the wiring next week. I have a film competition this weekend, no time for tinkering with hardware. I may have questions again come Monday.

bulbman rocks. They often stockpile the last of discontinued bulbs yet continue to sell them at a reasonable rate. Nice guys.

Should as long as its a G9.5 socket. Lamping down is not a problem (from 1000w to 750w because you're staying within the specs of the instrument). Lamping up shouldn't be done IMHO.

Great, thanks. I have the Berk's now. I'll be rewiring them Monday. I'll put a few pics when it's all done.

Ran a quick search, nothing helpful was found.

So the lights are up and running. Woo! Now I need to get them supported. I'm looking at either getting 2 Calumet stands or 2 Impact stands. One better than the other?

The link is the same for both you gave there but I'm sure that stand would be fine as long as you got a TVMP adapter for the yoke. Doesn't say the weight it supports but as long as your new fresnels aren't too heavy then it shouldn't be too bad.
