Eight Par 64 500w can lights?

Is that a fairly large amount of light?

I've also got, 2 soft boxes with 400w CFL's.
1 500w tungsten floodlight. 2 - 150w CFL's, 2 - 350w CFL's
2 - 800w redheads, 3 - 1000w shoplights with home made diffusers.
1 - 500w tungsten floodlight (blue temperature).

and 8 PAR 64 can lights at 500w each.

I'm lighting a night scene under a covered pavilion. Ballpark guess.. its about a 50' wide and 75' long. 12-15' ceiling with lighting. We were told we could replace the bulbs with whatever we want to put there. Under the pavillion will be about 75 extras dressed in halloween costumes, a band on stage, and a few other extras scattered in smaller groups just outside the shelter. We won't have any one shot of the entire set, but in smaller sections so it looks "bigger" than what it is. (not that it isn't big.) So the idea I'm thinking is that we should light only the sections we are actually shooting in that particular shot.

Here's a diagram of what the location sort of looks like.. excuse my bad Photoshop doodling skills.

I'm trying to see if we will be able to pump enough light in with what we have, or if I need to hook up some more.

Maybe you already shot this. In the diagram you only indicate where the practicals will be. Where are you planning on positioning the lights that you have? :)
Also the cars could be running and the headlights could be on to provide a strong light and depending on how many there are and their postion could provide extra motivational light source.
BTW my diagrams are very much the same ;)

If you can light the entire set at once you should go for it. It'll be easier to just jump around and shoot different sections rather than having to do a major relight every time you want to move 10 feet. Just a helpful tip.

what camera are you shooting on? Are your CFL's tungsten or daylight? If you're shooting on the 7d and have a bunch of rigging, you should be pretty good to go, otherwise I'd really beef up the practicals overhead.
