I know I've heard it a million times, but a guy can hope.......has anyone ever bought one of these c stands...if so what do you think?

No I don't think so, unless thes go by an alias. There pretty much the only ones that pop up when you type "century" stand in ebay search.

If you are going to leave it setup in a studio then the Amvona would probably be fine. However, I'd rather pay the about extra $40 for a matthew's c-stand personally.

They are heavy and the legs have to be lined up just perfectly to screw the screw thru to hold the whole stand together.

I got a couple of old Mole C-stands on ebay a long time ago and I can tell you these things would last forever. I think I picked them up for $50 each so if you ever find a deal like that--don't hesitate.

Thanks alot.. That was very helpful.....Looks like I'll be looking for used or go with Matthews. I used avengers a few weeks ago and loved them, but with shipping they were gonna run me about 200 bucks.

Join the club-we are both in the same situation. I'm still hoping that I can find a rental house within 150 miles that wants to sell them so I don't have to ship them and can also see the condition before I buy.
