Effects of putting 24p footage on a 29.97 timeline

I know this has probably been asked millions of times, but i have some 24pa footage which i have imported at 29.97. My question is if i put that 24pa footage on my 29.97 timeline is it going to mess anything up? I actually already have it in my timeline and every thing seems to run fine BUT i am having a problem where my audio is insync through my computer but if you run the audio and video through a tv, the sync is off (in some cases up to 6-7 frames). This may be a stupid question but if any of you could give some advice id appreciate it. Thanks!

Well you're cutting two different frame rates, so there are going to be issues. So far I haven't found FCP and its open timeline all that effective. I would decide what your output format is going to be and then use a video card like a Kona 3 to help you conform the "different" footage. I think you'll be way better off that way then leaving it in the hands of FCP to do at a software level.

As for the audio sync issues, that's a bit odd frankly. How are you going out to the TV exactly? And when you say its in sync in FCP, in sync how? FCP's canvas is in sync with your internal speakers? When you're trying to troubleshoot based upon sending signals out of FCP, we need to know all the various hardware variables involved.

Cheers.

Thanks for the quick feedback.. Unfortunately i am finished with the project so i dont want to have to do another edit on a different timeline. I just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to cause any huge problems. When i same the audio is in sync in FCP, i am running the audio straight out of speakers. (I hope thats not to vague). I am running the video and audio to my tv via a fire wire to a camera and camera to tv. If i more the audio out of sync, its fine but its a HUGE pain. I have never had this problem before and i have always done things this same way, but this is the first time i am mixing 24p footage into a 29.97 timeline.
