I'm working with the trial version of AE 7.0 right now and I'm trying to learn how to make light rays in my text for a trailer. I'm extremely new to the program and most of it is completely foreign to me, but I'm trying to learn.

I'm trying to pull off titles similar to the ones in this trailer:

Do any tutorials exist online that could help me with this? Or perhaps some of you can help me out? Thanks!

You can try the Trapcode Shine plug in. I think you can download a trial version at Trapcodes website. Also, there is a video tut at this site:

It is done with Trapcodes Particular plug in. It's for the wavey lines like the Ipod commercial but could probably work with straight lines as well.

Ok I am working with this shine effect and I need to know how to make keyframes. So far I only have one keyframe at the initial starting point. How do I make another keyframe so that the light rays beam all the way across?
