'Effects' doesn't seem to work

I just don't know what is going on with the effects in Premiere CS3 this morning. My clips are too dark and I want to add auto levels or brightness but it has no impact whatsoever. I did used it on other clips before and it did work fine. Does anybody understands what is going on?

Check the tutorial for colour and bightness adjustments in the Premiere tutorial, and see if there anything you are not doing/or doing incorectly:

Wow! Its one of those days... monday morning I guess. I was working with the program monitor instead of the Source monitor.... And its a good thing you have me looked at these tutorials. I am fairly new to Premiere and i didn't get to see that tutorial yet on color correcting. Very interesting...
