I have been wanting to do that cool effect they use on The First 48 everytime they introduce a detective in the begining of the show. I am thinking they use something like Motion or AE and Photoshop. I tried the effect in this custom car show video I edited.
If you are familiar with the show, am I on the right track with that effect? If you go to the link below it will take you to the video I edited. At time code 3:25 you will see the effect that I created in Motion then imported in FCP. I basically took 5 pictures of girls and removed the background from them in Photoshop. I then added motion to them to have them fly across the screen in different directions then I used a picture of 1 car that had this funky emitter effect to it for the background and layered the girls over top of that which is similiar to what they do on the show.
I would like to make the effect look a lot cleaner but just need to know if I am on the right track or not.
