Effect help

[LPK]

Hey,

I have recently started a university project which requires me to make a video. In this video I am aiming to have quotes being scribbled out, erased and then replaced by another quote. However, I am a n00b when it comes to After Effects so I am having some major problems trying to make the effect work.

The effect I am aiming for is seen at the beginning of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E3oIbO0AWE

Can anybody offer any advice on how to achieve it, or possibly a tutorial that covers it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Martin.

Use the pen tool to create a path for the scribbles on top of the text. Then animate the stroke effect to simulate the lines being scribbled. Search for AE animated stoke to find a tutorial on the subject.
