Can anyone recommend a top notch Premiere Pro hands-on instructor in the Los Angeles area or is there a forum that I've overlooked here on DVXuser?

There are some great self paced DVDs available for learning Premier.

You might want to go to Adobe's Premier forum and post your question there.

Get the PremPro Total Training DVDS by ? Rosenberg.

also : are you trying to learn the PremPro software or learn "How to Edit". There is a difference that you might want to consider.

If you are a bit experienced with Premiere, the leap to Pro is not too high or difficult at all.

jlames, i can recommend Total Training for Adobe® Premiere® Pro 1.5 and Total Training - Adobe® Premiere® Pro Tips & Tricks.

All DVD's from Total Training can be found on eBay as well! :)

I agree with this. I knew Premeir 6.5 and when I upgraded to PPro I purchased the production bundle, then I purchased Total Training for AE6.5 and they had a sale on Premiere® Pro Tips & Tricks and that was all I needed to figure out PPro1.5.

Its different, but not that different. I suggest at least starting with Premiere® Pro Tips & Tricks and then if you need more purchase the full up training for PPro. They're expensive, but you can't go wrong with Total Training.

jlames, where are you located in the LA area? My wife has an art gallery in Agoura Hills, if you promise to return my copy your more than welcome to borrow it, you can pick it up at the gallery.

Just a thought

We're in Quartz Hill which is about 60 miles north of LA but I'm in the San Fernando Valley area virtually every day and my kids live in Agoura so it's a hop, skip and jump over to pick it up. I certainly appreciate it. E-mail me your info off-line at jlames@laepd.us with directions and the best time and date for pick-up. Also, yes, I promise to return it. See www.laepd.us for what I do. I guess you'd say I'm trustworthy.

Hi Jonathan,

its a small world, I checked out your website and noticed a lot of pictures at Camarillo Airport and several references to the "salute to heroes" airshow. I produced the solute to hereos video for Chapter 723 of the EAA at Camarillo. :engel017:

Unfortunately I can't find the "Tips and Tricks" training DVDs  but I do have the "From Edit to Output" training DVDs :) which goes into pretty good detail about PPpr, AE, Audition, Encore and the workflow between them and Photoshop and Illustrator.

This might not be exactly what your looking for, but if your not familiar with Total Training it will give you the opportunity to see if you like the training and help to decide whether to purchase the Total Training PPro training. Although Total Training is expensive I have found every instructional set I have purchased from them to be well worth the money.

Just get yourself VEGAS and save yourself hours of headache.

(No really; not trying to start an NLE war)

John, how well does Vegas work with HDV? What do you like about it?
Where's a good place to go to check it out?
