Edius Transition Problem

I have a problem with Edius 4.5. When I place any transition , other than stretch or dissolve on the timeline it starts, 2 or 3 mm into the outgoing video, ie not to the outside edge of the video. It gives the impression of cutting into the outgoing clip leaving a portion of it all the way round on sreen. It also renders out as such, and the edge problem records to tape and shows up on the TV. I have installed the demo of version 5 and this does the same. Any ideas appreciated

Can you give couple of screenshots what exactly is happening with which transition (2D, 3D etc, and exact one), I don't really understand from your post. Over here Edius transitions work fine all the way.

Colin,

after applying the transition, go to the info dialog, double click the icon of the applied transition to open its setting dialog box. Find the general tab, uncheck the "enable overscan handling" box.

That overscan setting....who uses that anyway? Its the first thing I deselect when I use a new transition. I see no use for it at all.
