Editor Reel

My quick 2 cents.
It takes too long to get started and it looks more like a VFX reel than an editing reel to me. If it's supposed a VFX reel lit looks pretty good so far. If it's supposed to be an editing reel I'd like to see more of the pieces you've cut and less 'visual collage cut to music'. You also need to keep in mind who the reel is intended for. For example, if you are trying to land more fishing/out door shows those producers probably don't want to see wedding vows and if you are looking to do more weddings the bride and groom probably don't care about two guys out in a boat.

Even though it's more work, and assuming you have enough material, you should probably make multiple reels tailored to the different genres you've worked in.

I thought an editing reel was what I made.

I guess I want to demonstrate that I am indeed an editor, and am capable of special effects.

I do have my own production company, and I will build another reel soon (a wedding reel)

This was just to show my editing.

I guess I'll have to make another one showing my cinematography for weddings.

Should I just re-title this as VFX/Editor reel?

good dialog editing is of unheralded importance. if you do it right nobody can hear it. if you are good at it, it would be good to figure out a way to show that.
