I really appreciate your help here!
Someone sent me mac uncompressed quicktime mov files (PAL 720*576 - 72 GB/Hr) to edit on premiere pro cs3 on PC
My PC config is as follows:
intel quad core 2.4 GHz [Q6600]
4 GB Ram [bus 800]
Quadro 3450 VGA
External WD HD 1 TB (connected through firewire 400)
Editing the uncompressed files without compressing them is giving me a hard as it is not working smooth... CAN the premiere edit uncompressed files?
I have tried another method by encoding the files to mainconcept DV AVI and it is working fine in PP3
I am planning to export the files one time to add FX and then have my final product on a DVD
MY QUESTIONS:
* Is it supposed to edit the files as uncompressed mov files on PP3?
* Will the mainconcept DV Codec have a severe impact on the quality than the uncompressed footage!
* Is there anything I can do to make my PC edit the uncompressed footage smoothly - I thought I had a good config for a video editing PC!
